Melbourne and Melton Campuses got together to showcase their musical prowess in front of 700 people at the Glenvale’s Got Talent Showcase held at Lilydale's multi-purpose building. As well as promoting students’ talent, the event raised $1500 for the Royal Children’s hospital.
The day comprised musical performances by students of all ages from both primary and secondary schools including five bands, eight harmonious singing groups and one talented soloist. A judging panel of four musicians chose the three top bands and the three best singing groups/soloists to battle it out in the final round.
An entertaining finale included performances by Bshift7 (Melbourne), Real (Melbourne), Copyright (Melton), Bass&8 (Melbourne), 6th Harmony (Melton) and soloist Breanna White.
All the performances were fantastic, which made it difficult for the judges to decide on a winner. After a lot of hard discussion, the judges gave the best performance award in the band category to Bshift7, who displayed a classy act with their funny wigs and aviator sunglasses. The best in the singing group category was Bass&8, who created their own music with a grand double bass and cup-clapping with amazing harmonies.
The day ran smoothly and was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

“An absolutely awesome day between the two campuses! It was incredible that there was such a high standard set by every performance with heaps of competition. Everyone enjoyed everything, the practices beforehand, working together, and finally performing and winning together as a group. Definitely should be on the agenda for next year.”
